Digitization Services

altBridgeport National Bindery has a wide array of scanning equipment that allows us to scan your important documents in a safe, non-damaging way. We can meet your digitization needs whether those needs are for basic, cost-effective, safe scanning with a rapid turn time, or for a more involved service in which we provide digitization and metadata to meet your access and preservation needs. We will create and store your digital files following the current national standards and best practices. We can also OCR and index your scanned documents and provide metadata so that the files are ready to upload directly to your webpage. We also provide you files formatted to meet your long term preservation needs. Contact us today and let one of our preservation consultants talk to you about your digital needs. If your institution does not already have a digital preservation plan, we can, in a short amount of time, help you develop a strategy to answer a few basic questions like:

  • How does your institution plan to use these digitized files?
  • Will these files be used electronically, or will they need to be printed?
  • Does your institution have a digital preservation plan and repository, and if so, what protocols do we need to follow when digitizing your documents to  insure compatibility with that plan?

altIn addition to digital files, we can provide you with archival paper reproductions of scanned documents to insure there is a preservation backup for the digital data.

Bridgeport National Bindery has many years of experience working with libraries of all sizes. For this reason, we are intimately familiar with the needs of the institutions we serve. We have continued to adapt our services to meet the needs of libraries in the 21st Century.

Bridgeport National Bindery recognizes that our most prized asset as a company is not that we bind books, but rather that we understand how to provide tailored services to the libraries we serve. We understand processing procedures and production schemes. We recognize that all of our advances into new service areas have come as a result of meeting the needs of our clientele. We are, therefore, hungry to partner with our customers and to develop new services and products. We want our customers to view us a solution provider.
